Geri was recently of Lucan, Ontario and formerly of Kipling, Saskatchewan. Beloved wife of David Linkletter. Dear mother of Shannon (Cory) Johansen, Leslie Hill, and Trish (Ryan) McInnis all of Calgary, and Erin (Steven) Thorne of Lucan. Loving grandmother of Katrina and Emily; Samantha and Kyle; Lillian and Henry. Daughter-in-law of Peggy Linkletter of Calgary. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Glenn (Shannen) Unser of Idaho, Roseanne (Norman) Lapierre of Weyburn, Joretta (Gerald) King of Manor, Lynn (Lyle) Serack of Unity, Duane (Candy) Bye of Manor, Michael (Kim) Linkletter of Calgary and Lewis Linkletter of Toronto. Geri will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Casper and Mary Unser;  Regina and Ken Bye; and father-in-law Donald Linkletter. Geri gave the gift of music to so many through her passionate career as a music teacher, loved painting and dedicated her life to serving God through her involvement in the Catholic Church.

A key figure in popularizing the blues was the composer W. C. Handy , who published the first of his blues songs in 1912. [4] His compositions, notably " The Memphis Blues " and " St. Louis Blues ", quickly became standards for blues singers. Songs modeled on Handy's were performed in black stage shows and were also performed and recorded by white vaudevillians, such as Sophie Tucker . [5]
